COFFEEBERRY is a residential project in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The project uses California native plants and old-world materials, such as cobblestone, crushed rock, and flagstone to marry the landscape with the existing 1920’s Tudor home.
The homeowners requested a yard better suited to their young adventurous children, so we introduced garden terraces to allow for better playability, a custom a-frame fort, scattered boulders throughout, a water feature, and large amounts of kid-friendly native plants to forage and interact with.
For the adults in the household, we updated their outdoor kitchen, increased shade with a new timber pergola, and rebuilt a dilapidated deck.
