ABOUT

I design landscapes that connect people to their local ecosystem, to themselves, and to their community.

I believe nature isn’t a luxury — it’s the foundation of human happiness.

That belief wasn’t learned in a classroom. It was passed down.

My grandfather moved his family to Altadena in the 1940s, to an acre property in the foothills with a craftsman home, towering camphor trees, and more garden than house — a quiet statement about what matters.

He took my father and his siblings into the Sierra Nevada backcountry, packing through Mineral King on mule, learning to move through wild places with reverence. That tradition continues in my family today.

I grew up inheriting all of it. The Altadena foothills. The Sierra. The oak woodland and granite and manzanita of my family’s land near the Sierra National Forest, where I still go as often as I can. Those landscapes didn’t just shape how I see the world — they shaped how I design.

I’m a licensed Landscape Architect in California and a certified California Naturalist. My practice is rooted in native and ecologically-driven design, with a particular depth of knowledge in Southern California’s plant communities — the chaparral, the coastal sage scrub, the foothill woodland. I know these plants not just professionally, but personally, the way you know the place you grew up.

For me, a well-designed garden isn’t about aesthetics alone. It’s about belonging — to a place, to a landscape, to something larger than your property line.

A note on Altadena & fire recovery

My family has called Altadena home for over 80 years. The fires in 2025 devastated communities I know intimately - the foothills, the chaparral, the landscape I grew up in. Many homeowners will be making decisions about how to replant and restore their properties. If you want to do it right - with fire-wise, native, ecologically grounded design - I’d be honored to help.
