MANZANITA is a restored mid-century ranch in the foothills—an ideal canvas for reconnecting a family home to the ecology that surrounds it. The design leans into the character of the site with a palette of native plants, sculptural stone, and subtle water-harvesting features that quietly stitch habitat back into the neighborhood.

Beyond ecological repair, the exterior was reimagined to support a growing family. Boulders and tree stumps create moments for exploration and play, while a new pool and spa offer a place for the adults to unwind. The result is a landscape that feels lively, functional, and deeply rooted in its place.

This project came to life in collaboration with Mindy and Bonnie, with installation by Terra Form Inc. and ongoing garden care by Saturate. Photography by Patrick Blewett.
